There are three correctional facilities in Alameda County.

The second largest facility in Alameda County is the Glenn E. Dyer Detention Center in Oakland. This facility holds up to 700 inmates.
The Hayward Jail in Hayward holds only 32 inmates. Inmates who are not released after seeing the judge after booking at this facility will likely be transported to either the Santa Rita Jail or the Glenn E. Dyer Detention Center.
