Sources within the Dublin Police Department have confirmed that a pair of thieves who are alleged to have broken into several cars that were parked in the local library parking lot have been arrested and booked at the Alameda County Jail.
Police officials said they were initially tipped off about the crimes from a concerned citizen, who called dispatch operators to report that two suspicious men were seen walking around the area.
Four cars had been broken into that day, officers said, and when dispatch official was taking down the report, the caller indicated he thought the men in question seemed to be looking for their next target.
That person stayed on the phone so the dispatch center could provide updates to responding officers.
When squad cars arrived on-scene a 24 year-old and 26 year-old suspect were taken into custody. Both men have since been booked at the Santa Rita Jail on undisclosed charges. Their bail bonds amount was not immediately known.
