A man who is being held at the Santa Rita Jail on a no bail bonds hold has pleaded not guilty to murder.
According to a report by the Pleasanton Weekly, 24 year-old Damion Dupclay was arrested last November after he was identified as a suspect in the shooting death of a Dublin resident.
Jail records indicate the defendant is also being charged with felony evading and for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Police department investigators say they believe the incident stemmed from a robbery attempt.
Witnesses were quick to provide officers with a description of a car that was spotted fleeing the crime scene; squad cars spotted that vehicle a few hours later. Dupclay tried to flee, officers noted, but he was eventually taken into custody.
Investigators confirm they questioned the defendant at length and say he eventually confessed to committing the crime.
