A spokesperson for the Berkeley Police Department has confirmed they’ve arrested a man who was hiding nearly two dozen pieces of crack cocaine in his mouth.
Authorities said the incident took place in the first week of the month. Officers said the suspect had been under surveillance after they received multiple tips that he was selling drugs.
They took their evidence to a judge and were able to get a search warrant. When they executed the warrant, not only did they find their suspect, they found his cell phone, which had many text messages indicating he was selling narcotics.
They also recovered a scale, baggies and cash. The man was also found to be stashing roughly four grams of crack cocaine in his mouth.
Berkely Police say he was arrested on the spot and was taken to the Santa Rita Jail to be booked where he is being held on $100,000 bail bonds.
