Officers at the Dublin Police Department have been busy these past few weeks. Below are just a few of the calls they have responded to.
On Dec. 22 officers were alerted that a shoplifter was in the area of the Paragon Outlets. They also arrested an individual on suspicion of driving while under the influence. Later that night they responded to a drunk and disorderly call. That man was also taken into custody. Persons who are booked for a basic first-tine DUI are usually cited out and do not need to hire a bondsman. The same holds for someone who is charged with drunk and disorderly.
The previous night officers reportedly responded to calls pertaining to both residential burglary and commercial burglary. The suspects remain at large. Police also arrested a 20 year old man and charged him with possession of a controlled substance, narcotics sales and possessing stolen property. His bail amount was not immediately available but it bail is believed to have been set in excess of $50,000. It is not clear whether the defendant is still being held at the Santa Rita Jail or if he was able to hire a bondsman to post a bond.
Earlier that week officers arrested a man and charged him with domestic battery. He was also charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance and being in possession of drug-paraphernalia. Bail information was not immediately available although bail for domestic violence typically ranges between $25,000 and $50,000. That man’s case is still pending.
