Sources at the Hayward Police Department have confirmed that officers arrested and detained a 19 year-old male who is believed to be tied to a recent shooting incident in Berkeley.
The suspect is being held at the Berkeley Jail on unknown bail bonds.
This is the third person who has been arrested in relation to that crime, they said; the other defendants are a 20 year-old male and a 17 year-old minor, whose name has not been released due to his age.
The adult suspects are facing charges of assault with a firearm, murder and second degree robbery. If they are eligible to hire a bondsman it’s believed their jail bonds are likely to have been set in excess of $1 million. Million dollar bail bonds are very common for defendants who are facing murder charges.
The suspects are due to be arraigned later this week. The Alameda County Sheriff’s Department said the investigation is still ongoing.
