Representatives from the Hayward Police Department have confirmed that the prime suspect in a recent electronics store robbery has been taken into custody.
The incident took place in late January, they said, when a 30 year-old man walked into a Fry’s Electronics and pulled a gun on employees.
The suspect and a 24 year-old accomplice were said to have made off with three gaming consoles valued at about $1,200. The younger suspect was arrested several days after the armed robbery took place.
Hayward PD officials learned their prime suspect had been recently arrested by another law enforcement agency. He’s since been charged with the earlier crime and remains in custody at the Santa Rita Jail.
Jail records show he’s already been sentenced on the first case; he’s due in court today for the latest hearing on the robbery charges.
His bail bonds on that case have been set at $250,000.
