An off-duty telemarketer who was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery was booked at the Santa Rita Jail on $30,000 bail bonds.
According to a report by CrimeVoice.com, Freemont Police Department received a call about a possible domestic disturbance that was taking place at an extended-stay hotel. The man was fighting with his girlfriend, police said, and when things started to escalate, his girlfriend’s daughter called 9-1-1.
Then officers arrived on scene they were told the suspect had also cut her with a piece of glass. The defendant was handcuffed, restrained and taken into custody.
He was charged with criminal threats, battery and obstructing an officer. It’s unclear whether the now-defendant has a prior history of arrest. If he did have priors, or if the jail learned he had open and/or outstanding warrants, his bail bonds would have been much higher.
