A spokesperson for the UC Berkeley Police Department said they’re asking students to be extra cautious due to an increased number of robberies on campus.
All of the incidents took place last Saturday night, they said; three male victims were targeted in a four-hour time span. The first robbery took place just before 8 p.m. The student was walking along a pathway when an unknown suspect approached him, demanded he hand over his property and punched him in the face.
The second incident took place a short time later. This time, two suspects approached a male student and said if he didn’t give them his valuables, they would shoot him.
The final robbery took place just before 11 p.m., when five juveniles approached a third male student. A female suspect took his money, while one of the males punched him.
UC Berkeley Police representatives say all of the suspects are still at large. It was not immediately clear if the incidents are related.
