UC Berkely has its own, dedicated law enforcement services. The UC Berkeley Police Department has primary jurisdiction on this campus as well as on its associated properties. The UCPD receives the same training as county law enforcement officers and have additional training which enables them to adapt their expertise to a campus environment.
This department employs 64 sworn officers, 45 full-time civilian personnel and a vast number of student employees.
